2015 KTM 250 XC-F VS. YAMAHA YZ250FX

the KTM, mainly on hard-packed
and uneven surfaces.
Ergonomics are fairly different
as well. With the KTM you get
the feeling that you're sitting in
the bike, whereas the Yamaha
you feel more like you're sit-
ting on top of it. Neither is bad,
really, just different. The KTM,
however, has a higher seat
height at 39 inches, compared
to the Yamaha's 38 inches, and
the KTM's seat is softer than the
Yamaha's. Both seats, however,
are within the comfort-zone win-
dow, but the FX's seat is pushing
the stiff envelope.
The KTM comes with hand
guards and the Yamaha does
not—boo! Yamaha. Luckily,
aftermarket hand guards won't
break the bank, but it sure would
be nice having them already
installed.
There isn't much the KTM can't
do well. In the off-road world,
250Fs have come a long way and
the KTM is proof of that.
