tipped over twice just before the
main pits."
But Brabec probably had a
worse start aboard his FMF/
DA8 Training/O'Neal KX450F
after his victory with Robby Bell
at the Best in the Desert race in
Laughlin the day before.
"We came out here to the
hare and hound hoping to win,"
he said. "After the start I think I
was 40th to the bomb and that
kind of set in my head and I was
like, 'I've got to do good, push!'
"I charged the entire race; I
don't think I took one break start
to finish! I didn't really get tired. It
was a great course. Throughout
the whole course, it was equally
technical and rough so it was
fun."
After passing Ramirez for the
lead about 10 miles from the
finish, Brabec said, "I knew after
that I could do it if I kept the bike
rolling and not make any mis-
takes and that's what I did."
He added, "I'm stoked to be
up top and get the lead in the
points."
Prieto rode in for fourth,
equalling his career best, with
Burson a bloodied fifth. Howes,
So far, no one's
figured out a way
to beat Dalton
Shirey in the
FMF 250cc Pro
class with eighth
overall.
