WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
VOL. 52 ISSUE 9 MARCH 3, 2015 P83
[even though] I wasn't able to
ride all week. I went from the
main event last weekend straight
to practice this weekend all
without riding. To get fourth is
not really acceptable. Although
we were able to salvage points, I
don't get paid for fourth and I am
not hired to get fourth."
JIMMY D
East Coast native Jimmy Decotis
is a fan favorite, and the priva-
teer had a stellar ride, snagging
fifth place in a last-lap move
on Tonus. Midway through the
hectic 250 main, he was locked
in a battle with the front-runners
and succumbed to the pressure,
getting passed by Savatgy and
Tonus that put him back to sixth.
He admitted that he pumped up
and had to regain composure
before passing Tonus back for
fifth.
"It was a step in the right di-
rection, I feel like I got a lot more
to work on," said Decotis. "I got
a little tight, but kind of pulled
it back together at the end and
started closing up on Savatgy
and Tonus. I had to get Tonus,
you know. A fifth is better than a
sixth." CN
