MARQUEZ HOT IN MALAYSIA
S
etting the pace, once again,
at MotoGP's second pre-
season test at Sepang Inter-
national Circuit was Repsol
Honda's Marc Marquez. The
reigning World Champion re-
bounded from brake issues on
his first day of testing to domi-
nate the final two days, setting
the best time of 1:59.115.
In addition to setting the fast-
est time of the three-day test,
Marquez also put in more laps
than anyone else on that final
day. Among those 73 laps was a
19-lap stint where he managed
16 laps under the 2:01 minute
markâclearly sending the mes-
sage to his rivals that he will
be a tough man to dethrone in
2015.
"We're finished today with our
homework done, and I even had
time to do a race simulation this
afternoon, with a track tempera-
ture of 49 C [120 F]," Marquez
said. "We have accomplished
all the objectives we had set
for this test, and now at the
Qatar test our work will be more
focused on the Grand Prix and
fine tuning the setup of the bike.
I do not think there are many
more new things to try."
Trailing Marquez by three-
tenths of a second was Movistar
Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo. The
former World Champion set his
fastest time ever at Sepang and
felt that the bike had improved
a lot.
"Today I got the best lap time
in Sepang ever for me, two-
tenths faster than the first test,"
Lorenzo said. "The track was
in worse condition than before
