IN THE WIND P30 BELL AGAIN AT ARIZONA WORCS R obby Bell took the WORCS Pro win at Canyon MX after charging into the early lead and pulling away to take the check- ers. It was the third-consecutive win of the season for the Preci- sion Concepts rider. Blayne Thompson and Travis Coy both earned their debut podium fin- ishes in the Pro class. Reigning champion Gary Sutherlin was noticeably absent; he sidelined himself last week- end with a broken wrist, suffered at a Check Chase National Hare & Hound. The rocks, cactus and whoops took their toll on many of the racers at Canyon MX Park, with several big wrecks on the weekend, including even the winner, Bell. Destry Abbott, Ivan Ramirez and Eric Yorba all encountered crashes that ended their weekends, but no serious injuries were reported. In the Pro2 class, Justin Wal- lis took the big win (and second overall) ahead of Brandon Prieto and Travis Damon. PHOTOGRAPHY BY HARLEN FOLEY Precision Concepts rider Robby Bell celebrated his third WORCS win in as many races. ALL UDALL AT GLEN HELEN BIG 6 GP A lthough many riders were away at the WORCS race in Arizona, there was still a large turnout for the Prairie Dogs GP, round three of the MSR Big 6 Grand Prix Series. Although many Southern California racers can call Glen Helen their "back yard," Udall proved to be the most at-home on the fast 11-mile course. The JCR Honda rider sailed to a big win in the two- hour West Coast GP feature on Saturday afternoon, riding to victory ahead of Justin Seeds. Although Pro II racer Trevor Stewart finished third overall, it was Blayne Thompson who rounded out the WCGP Pro class in third. (Thompson pulled double-duty over the weekend, racing the WORCS race, as well.) Stewart put in an impres- sive ride to take the Pro II win over Nick Stover and Rowan Trefz.
