ROCZEN
SCHEDULED
FOR MRI
R
CH Soaring Eagle/Jimmy
Johns/Suzuki Factory Rac-
ing's Ken Roczen says he is still
bothered by the ankle that he
injured during practice at the
Atlanta I Supercross, February
21, and plans to have an MRI to
determine just how serious the
injury might be. It didn't help
matters that he aggravated the
injury at Atlanta II, February 28,
and rode through the pain to an
eighth-place finish.
"Obviously, our night didn't
go as planned," Roczen said.
"There are some things that I
have to figure out. I have to get
an MRI on my ankle this week
so we know what we have to do.
We need to figure out if I can
keep riding and keep training or
if it's better to take some time off
and let it heal."
THE NASCAR
STARS COME
OUT
W
ith both NASCAR and Super-
cross having races on the
same February 28-29 weekend in
Atlanta, Georgia, many of the stars
of the car-racing world came out
to watch the Supercross Saturday
night at the Georgia Dome. Six-
time NASCAR champ Jimmie John-
son was honored as the night's
grand marshal. Also in attendance
was four-time champ Jeff Gordon
and all-time leading NASCAR
champ Richard Petty, who owns
seven titles.
Could Ken Roczen's
Supercross season
come to a halt? It
depends what the
results are from an
upcoming MRI on his
injured ankle.
Richard Petty was one
of the many stars of
NASCAR that came out
to watch the Atlanta II
Supercross.
