2015 SUZUKI GSX-R 1000 ABS
S
uzuki officially introduced its new GSX-
R1000 ABS. The bike isn't radically changed
but it does get, as the name implies, an Antilock
Brake System (ABS) and new graphics, which
are inspired by the company's new MotoGP
race bike, the GSX-RR1000.
As for the 1000's new ABS system, it is
based on previous Suzuki ABS systems but
built specifically for the GSX-R1000. Front disc
brakes feature Brembo radial-mount monoblock
calipers, and the rear disc brakes use a Nis-
sin caliper mounted above the swingarm; its
compact design contributes to a reduction of
unsprung weight.
Next year, Suzuki will be celebrating the GSX-
R1000's 15
th
anniversary, so it will be interesting
to see what Suzuki has in store for one of its
top-selling models.
The GSX-R1000 gets ABS and a
new paint job for 2015.
