VOL. 52 ISSUE 8 FEBRUARY 24, 2015 P81 900 and put it to use as a sport- touring model. Ta-da! The first Concours was born. Since then there have been several reincar- nations of the Concours series all based on Kawasaki's ultimate power bikes. Just like with the first Concours and its Ninja 900 DNA, the new 2015 Kawasaki Concours 14 ABS still (since 2008) borrows directly from their very impressive Ninja ZX-14. Way back in the days when my pals and I would pilot our full-on sport bikes on long adventures, we often used the phrase sport tour- ing. Kawasaki describes the new 2015 Concours 14 ABS as the ultimate back-road "super sport tourer." This got me thinking about my days of so-called sport (Left) The latest Concours 14 ABS, which still gets its bloodline from the ZX-14, got a few upgrades for 2015. (Top) Along with ABS, the Concours utilizes a linked-brake system. It's not everyone's cup of tea. (Middle) Storage capacity has been bumped up a bit to 35 liters, just enough storage space for some basic overnight necessities. (Bottom) The Concours' dash is nothing special to look at but it gives you what you need to know. (Right)The electronic windshield is new and does the trick.
