quick and tried to pass as many
guys as I could so I could get a
good gate position for the semi.
Just kind of chips fell in line
there in the main event.
"In the main, I got off to a
decent start. I just tucked under
around the inside, I didn't really
get that great of a jump. Me and
Nicoletti, who was next to me,
kind of locked together and we
kind of just rode it out. But both
of us got off to a great start.
We both just snuck around the
inside. I was able to pass him
and Peick and unfortunately my
teammate Eli went down and I
ended up fourth.
"I tried not to put up too much
of a fight when Trey was behind
me, because he's my teammate
and I do have to kind of respect
him a little bit more than the
other riders," Seely said. "But
mainly what I was trying to do
was just kind of get in behind
him and follow his lines. It was
pretty crucial just to figure out
where he was going faster and
where I could pick up. And it did
work because I ended up catch-
ing Peick who was in fourth at
the time."
PEICK PUTS UP A FIGHT
Peick was impressive over the
first eight or nine laps of the
race, but the AutoTrader.com/
Toyota/JGR Yamaha rider is
lacking stamina right now after
missing a lot of training due to
two injuries—a broken foot at
Phoenix and a torn MCL at last
week's race in Dallas. In fact,
Peick told us he hadn't done 20
laps since the Phoenix race.
"I think I was about third place
and just started running good,"
said Peick. "I ended up passing
Phil for second and just tailed
Reed for about eight laps or so,
something like that."
After running second for sev-
en of the first eight laps, Peick
faded to fifth at the finish.
"I just kind of started getting
a little tired," added Peick. "I
haven't been on the bike and
done 20 laps since Phoenix. It's
just been a rough time this year
and I'm just stoked to actually
get fifth place. It was a tough
fifth place, but it's just building
blocks from here, and all I can
do is just keep getting better."
TOUGH NIGHT
Two-time race winner in 2015,
Ken Roczen suffered two nasty
crashes on the night—one in the
second practice session and
one on lap seven of the main
event. The former points leader
got off to a poor start in the
main, and was 15

now but try again next week."
RJ Hampshire only had one day of
practice this week due to an injury to
his chest he received when he land-
ed hard at the East opener last week-
end in Dallas. "I feel lucky to even be
racing here after last week's wreck,"
Hampshire said. "I was pretty beat
up after the race. Once I got home
I realized my injuries were pretty sig-
nificant, enough that I couldn't really
ride until two days ago. There were
times tonight when it was hard to
breath because of my lungs being
banged up but I fought through it. I
was definitely a little rusty but I felt
okay overall. I just had it in my head
that I wanted to put in 15 laps and get
some points."
Justin Bogle (1) leads Marten and
previous-round winner Marvin
Musquin late in the 250 main.
