nearly three seconds up on
second place.
Near the end of the race,
Dungey put on a hard charge to
try to reel in Reed, but the crafty
veteran pulled out all the stops
and was just over a second clear
of the KTM rider at the finish.
Amazingly, Reed last won
in the Georgia Dome in 2004,
which is over a decade ago.
"It's been a rough year," said
Reed. "To come back and get a
win in a stadium that I enjoy and
I like, but it hasn't necessarily
been my best stadium over the
years. I've taken an ass-whoop-
ing here from Stew and RC here.
But I've been solid. I just tried to
get a good start and tried to see
what we could do with it.
"We made a lot of changes
with the bike, I think that just
helped me. I got a good start in
Oakland and couldn't do any-
thing with it. But tonight I think
we were just in a little better
position and I was able to just
go. I felt like all year for whatever
reason I just haven't been able to
