MV Agusta racing Chief Brian Gil-
len answered the question of how
both his riders were such comfort-
able 1-2 finishers in Australia when
he pointed to the fact that there were
three MVs in the top seven places,
with Alex Baldolini a privateer sev-
enth. "It shows not only the potential
of the factory team but the potential
of the bike even in the hands of a pri-
vateer team," said Gillen.

of race day compared to Satur-
day helped most people with tire
life, but Bayliss pitted to change
his in the middle of race two. No
fairytale return as he was 17th in
the points.
But still every inch the racer
and star man for the fans.
"The whole experience felt
the same as it was seven years
ago," Bayliss said. "In the end
I'm just happy because the lap
times are there as the lap times
in the race were faster than I did
in qualifying. It shows progress."
Back at the top, the champi-
onship fight should be a thing
of beauty in 2015, with potential
all over the paddock. So many
changes of riders and teams,
more limits on engine tuning
and electronics, and—so far, so
