RIDING IMPRESSION

logging around the back-canyon
roads is nothing new to me. It's
something I do all the time on my
personal sport bike, but it's not often
I get the chance to do it on a sport-
touring bike. Well, more like never.
But that was about to change.
When the opportunity recently
came for me to spend the day riding
Kawasaki's revamped Concours 14
ABS, a bike I've never ridden before, I
thought, why not? After all, it's a sport-
touring bike, so if it's got the word
sport in it, I'm in!
The touring part, however, definitely
caught my curiosity. How sporty could
it be if it's part touring? Would I be dis-
appointed in the sport part, or would I
be surprised? I would soon find out.
As most of us know, Kawasaki has
a reputation as a company that builds
fast bikes. (The H2R quickly comes
to mind.) But being fast, reliable and
comfortable usually don't go together.
That's a tall order and one that's not
