HALBERT TEAMS UP
A
fter running his own race team since 2008,
perennial AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National
Championship contender Sammy Halbert will be
riding for the newly formed BriggsAuto.com/Scott
Powersports Team at AMA Pro Flat Track Twins
races in 2015. Legendary tuner Johnny Goad will
be the mechanic for Halbert. The Graham, Wash-
ington, native will continue to race his own Yamaha
YZ450s at AMA Pro Flat Track Singles races.
"I have my sights set on winning the 2015 Grand
National Championship," said Halbert who finished
second in 2012 and was the GNC combined points
winner in 2009. "Running my own team took up
lots of time that I can now devote to riding and train-
ing. With support from Briggs Auto and Scott Pow-
ersports, and bikes tuned by Johnny Goad, I'll be
a force to be reckoned with this coming season."
Scott Powersports is owned by Mike Scott who
has for many years been active in AMA Pro Grand
National flat track racing as a rider, owner and
sponsor. Scott has been heavily involved with the
development of Kawasakis in the Grand National
Twins Series. In 2015, his time will be split between
the AMA Pro Flat Track circuit and going racing
with his son Tyler, an amateur dirt track competitor.
Goad and his wife Sarah are excited to be back on
the circuit on a full-time basis. Their daughter Cay-
lee, who will assist her dad both in the shop and in
the pits, will also join the team.

The 25-year-old Belgian, who is coming back
from a wrist injury, showed that he's on the pace
for the 2015 MXGP season opener next weekend
in Doha, Qatar.
The Mantova Starcross uses a three-moto format
where MXGP and MX2 classes race together. De-
salle was quickest out of the gate all weekend, tak-
ing the early lead in all three races and holding on
to take the three-moto sweep over Honda's Evgeny
Bobryshev, who claimed second overall, with Ce-
riel Klein Kromhoff taking third overall.
Kawasaki's Jordi Tixier claimed the MX2 over-
all victory over Suzuki's Jeremy Seewer and KTM
