back in the race but had to wait
a few seconds because there
was a lot of traffic.
"From that point on it was
basically damage-control. You
see all the guys at the top of the
standings are up front and you
don't want to give up any more
points than you have to. I'm not
happy right now, but sometimes
over the course of a 17-race sea-
son you have to be content with
a fifth-place finish and the points
you earn."
Also recovering from a rough
start to the race to finish sixth
was fellow Honda rider and Ca-
nard's teammate, Cole Seely.
"Got off to a rough start,
which forced me to roll a triple
on the first lap and that's always
scary," said Seely. "I had to
check up and make sure I wasn't
going to get landed on. Then on
the second lap, I cross-rutted
and hit my chest really hard on
the bars. It was tough to ride
after that but I just tried to hit my
marks and keep looking forward.

moving in the right direction."
In seventh was Yoshimura
Suzuki's Blake Baggett ahead of
BTO Motorsport KTM's Andrew
Short.
Roczen's teammate Broc
Tickle ended the night ninth in
his return to racing after taking a
week off to heal up from a back
injury suffered at the Oakland
round of Supercross. And round-
ing out the top 10 was rookie
Jason Anderson on the Rockstar
Energy Husqvarna.
Where There's A Will

While the extent of Webb's
shoulder injury was unknown, or
at least not public knowledge,
the visual of his crash in practice
was enough for onlookers to
take notice. It was one of those
Ryan Dungey (5) ended the night
third but retained the red plate. He
holds a slightly smaller nine-point
lead over Roczen going into the next
round in Texas.
