n racing, one mistake can make all your hard work mute. Yama-
lube Star Racing Yamaha's Cooper Webb very nearly lived that
lesson Saturday at Petco Park in San Diego, California when a
mistake in qualifying practice pile-drove him into the ground, injur-
ing his right shoulder and potentially sidelining the 250 West SX
Championship leader for the main event. But Webb, didn't want to
see his hard earned 18-point lead go to waste, especially consid-
ering the fact there was a two-month break before the next round
of the 250 West Supercross division.

Briefly...
The Monster Energy AMA Super-
cross Series debut at the home of
the San Diego Padres—Petco Park,
was in front of a sold out crowd of
42,017. The sixth race of the 2015
season was also the Military Appreci-
ation Race, a night in which the sport
honored the men and women of the
armed forces.
Lapped traffic was a bit of an issue
for the lead pack of the 450 main
event, interfering with Ken Roczen
and Ryan Dungey's efforts to fight
for the lead. Race leader Trey Ca-
nard also had to navigate through
the traffic, but faired better. "There
was a few [lappers] but they weren't
bad," Canard said. "They were pretty
good about getting out of the way. I
hit them in really good places though
so that's good."
TLD/Lucas Oil/Red Bull/KTM's
Jessy Nelson had a rough weekend
in San Diego, but managed to finish
eighth and holds onto second place
in the championship. "I had a little bit
of a rough weekend and my starts
weren't there," said Nelson. "The
championship is pretty much out of
my grasp at this point. We'll use the
break to really focus on preparing for
outdoors. When we come back, my
goal is to get back on the box and
close that points gap as much as I
can."
Zach Osborne also had a less than
satisfactory night in spite of getting
his third holeshot of the season. The
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider
finished sixth while still battling an
injured thumb from the first round
of the series. "Today was ok," said
Osborne. "I was third fastest in quali-
fying, which gave me second gate
