IN THE WIND P34 RAGA CONTAINS BOU—FINALLY W ith Adam Raga at the controls, Gas Gas won the third round of 2015 FIM X-Trial World Championship held in Pau, France, February 6. This marked Raga's first victory in the series since Barcelona 2008 and brought to an end Toni Bou's (Repsol Honda) winning run that dates back to Mar- seille 2010. Raga was in the form of his life and fully capital- ized on a rare mistake by Bou, but was more than worthy of this important and historic victory on his own merit. The duel between the leading Spanish duo overshadowed the supporting cast as Jeroni Fajardo (Beta) took his first podium place of the season when he finished eight marks clear of Al- bert Cabestany (Sherco). After two rounds in quick succession the 2015 FIM X-Trial World Championship now takes a short break before kicking back into action March 8 in Barcelona, Spain, where the leading Spanish quar- tet is sure to enjoy some noisy home support. CONTINGENCY COUNTS AT RCSX T he sixth annual Ricky Car- michael Daytona Amateur Supercross is set to give away $147,675 in amateur contingency awards to racers participating in this year's two-day event. Follow- ing Saturday's Daytona Super- cross by Honda, amateur racing kicks off Sunday, March 8, and continues on Monday, March 9, at the historic Daytona Interna- tional Speedway. "It's incredible to see a 47% increase in contingency dollars from the 2014 Ricky Carmichael Amateur Supercross," said MX Sports Director Tim Cotter. "We are honored to have all of the OEMs on board to support ama- teur athletes with such compre- hensive contingency programs, as well as trackside support, for this event." Once again, manufacturers such as Suzuki, Kawasaki, KTM, Yamaha, Honda and Cobra are offering up generous contingen- cy programs to amateur racers competing in the two-day RCSX event. Husqvarna will join the lineup in 2015, offering an un- precedented $40,475 in contin- gency dollars. In addition to their generous contingency programs, manu- facturers such as Suzuki, KTM, Team Green Kawasaki, Cobra Riders participating in this year's RCSX at Daytona will be battling for a part of the $147,000-plus contingency.
