SUPERCROSS MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES, AN FIM WORLD ROUND 5/JANUARY 31, 2015 ANGELS STADIUM OF ANAHEIM/ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA P74 TALKIN' TRACK Anaheim has always been a track that's been criticized, and mainly because the dirt has been seen as worn out with three Anaheim Supercross races and two Monster Jam races each year. Also, Southern California is known to be dry, which probably doesn't help matters. This time around, the consensus was Anaheim III was a technical track and "less Anaheim" and more tacky than normal. "It was tough," Seely said. "Really technical all day long. It actually worked in really well, especially for A3. Usually by now the dirt is super beat down and blue grooved from the Supercross and the monster trucks. It broke down really well." Okay, so dirt quality isn't really a mainstream discussion. What was widely talked about was the elevated start. Some guys struggled with it, but Canard felt it wasn't that big of a deal. "It didn't make much of a differ- ence," Canard said. "We're all on the same start, so I thought it was a pretty even advantage for everyone. I liked it, I though it was cool." Canard did add that the track itself was odd and difficult. "The track was really tight, the transitions were really funny—it was just a tough track, really technical," Canard said. Anaheim I West 250 winner was also critical. "I think the track was more of a practice track than a race track," said Nelson. "More like a test track. It didn't flow very well for racing. It got better as the night went on, but it was slick at the end. They need to make some changes I think. The tracks are good, they're just a little hard for racing." But, while technical, it had the ad- vantage of good passing opportuni- ties, a quality that Dungey felt made it a top Anaheim track. "Actually, this track was really good for passing," Dungey said. "There were a lot of areas where you could make a move and set yourself up. Honestly, I think this was one of the best Anaheims that I've ever raced." Aaron Plessinger (157) eventually got Zach Osborne (16) for his first podium finish. TALKIN' TRACK
