OFF ROAD
AMA D-37/MSR BIG 6 GRAND PRIX SERIES
ROUND 2 / JANUARY 31 – FEBRUARY 1, 2015
HONOLULU HILLS MX / TAFT, CALIFORNIA
P98
By contrast, eventual runner-up Hinson
Honda's Justin Jones had to play catch-
up aboard his AHM Factory Services/
Dunlop/MSR CRF450R. "I got off to a
pretty bad start, but I actually reeled ev-
erybody in the first lap – I was pretty ag-
gressive," he admitted. "I just fell into the
pace early and tried to hook onto Robby.
I actually missed my pit so I went an extra
lap, which was a little scary, but I ended up fine. [Eric]
Yorba ended up reeling me in; he was riding awesome.
It's a bummer he broke."
WFOx Motorsports Honda's Udall also had Jones in
his sights towards the end but had to settle for third for
the second round in a row on his Galfer/Ame Grips/MSR
CRF450X. He revealed, "We were scheduled to pit when
everybody else did, but my tank's a little bigger than theirs
because I ride a 450X. They pitted and I went one more
lap – I never even had to deal with them [on the course],
really – and passed [Justin] Seeds and [Ryan Reina]. Two
passes in one; that's the easiest way to do it."
Though Scotty
Perez leads
here, Austin
Eddy (lurking in
the background)
ended up with
the Junior
Advanced win.
(Left) No one
was faster on a
250 than Dalton
Shirey – again.
He claimed the
WCGP Pro II and
Lightweight I
Expert wins over
the weekend.
(Right) Paul Krause
– here on his way
to the Magnum
victory – had a
busy weekend.
He followed with
a close second
in the Senior
race and third
in Lightweight II
(200cc) Expert.
