"It was better for me, the
restart," Nelson said. "But I
didn't know what was going on.
I didn't know if somebody got
hurt or what. I was glad nobody
was hurt and it was just a gate
malfunction. I used it to my ad-
vantage to get a better start, so it
turned it around for me. Other-
wise I was going to have another
bad night."
Just a few laps in, Cooper
had latched on to the back of
Nelson.
"It was a good battle, for
sure," Webb said. "I knew he
was going to be fast for those
first laps. So I just kind of stayed
right there, saw what he was
doing and just was patient. I
made the pass when I knew
he was going to come into that
next corner and do what he did.
I squared him up and I made it
stick and went, and I tried to do
a couple fast laps just to get a
gap and rode free to home."
It wasn't a win, but Nelson
was happy to rebound after a
tough weekend at Oakland with
a second-place finish.
