SUPERCROSS
MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES, AN FIM WORLD
ROUND 4/JANUARY 24, 2015
O.CO COLISEUM/OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA
P52
At the time, Webb got off to
a rough start and was running
fifth and trying to pass Rockstar
Energy Racing's Zach Bell when
Bowers came hard through a
turn and center-punched Webb.
Bowers also appeared to throw
an elbow Webb's way.
"Bowers just came in and
dirtied me pretty dang good,"
said Webb. "I felt like it was very
unnecessary. He was definitely
going for the kill and I wasn't too
pumped on that. I just got up,
put my head down. All I could
think about was the champion-
ship and the points."
When Webb got back into
the race, it was almost a carbon
copy of last week's race when
he charged through the field to
the front.
"When I first got up I struggled
the first two laps, which I think
kind of cost me the win, hon-
estly," said Webb. "I saw Hill
was out front and that's who I
was trying to get. I think a lot of
people, once they saw me get
cleaned out, were thinking the
Consistency is, so
far, working out for
second-place finisher
Ryan Dungey. He's
winless this season
but he's the new
points leader.
