IN THE WIND P30 PEICK UNDERGOES SURGERY W eston Peick recently underwent surgery on his broken foot that he broke en route to a fourth- place finish at the Phoenix Supercross, January 10. The AutoTrader.com/Toyota/JGRMX Yamaha team rider tried riding the Anaheim II Supercross a week later but reinjured the foot. According to team man- ager Jeremy Albrecht, the surgery went well and he is expected to miss at least four to six weeks before returning to action. "He went to a specialist that Joe (Gibbs, team owner) thinks is the best and he ended up having surgery on Monday (January 19) and basically re- moved the piece. We'll know more on his recovery after his first evaluation next week." Shan Moore Weston Peick will be out of action for up to four to six weeks. WILSON OUT WITH INJURY R ed Bull KTM's Dean Wilson suffered yet anoth- er setback in his racing career after suffering a knee injury while practicing on Thursday, January 22, just prior to the Oakland Supercross. After a slow start to the 2015 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series, Wilson appeared to be gaining momentum when he suffered the injury. He is scheduled to undergo surgery the week of Janu- ary 26-30. Wilson broke the news via his Instagram ac- count: "As my results haven't been the greatest, I was excited to keep building my results better and better each weekend. Yesterday was one of the toughest days I have had in my career. Just a normal Thurs- day training in the middle of my moto when I made a mistake at the KTM test track. I am so gutted and disappointed to say that I have torn my ACL and MCL and will be getting surgery next week. Yesterday, while I was on the way to the hospital looking out the window at the mountains I was contemplating on quitting and just get a real job and live a normal life. It just seems to be a continuous streak lately and the disappointment is just killing me as a person. But I know how much I am capable of achieving and how much I love this sport when things are going good. But sometimes it can just be so cruel. I have the best sponsors and people that I can't thank enough for their love and loyal sup- port. And thanks to all my fans for the support too. I wish I could be racing this weekend. But God has another plan for me." Wilson was 14 th in the 450-class standings when he suffered the injury. Dean Wilson will be laid up again, this time with a knee injury.
