TIGHT TOMAC
GEICO Honda's Eli Tomac
rounded out the top four, after
starting the race in seventh
at the end of lap one. Tomac
didn't seem to have the edge on
the competition that he had at
Phoenix when he won, and at A1
where he set fastest qualifying.
"Fourth place was actually
disappointing," Tomac said.
"After about lap 10, I just couldn't
ride like myself. I got tight and
just had to salvage that fourth
place, though I can't blame
the bike completely. I just rode
really tight. Still, to get fourth is
all right. I didn't jack up, so I'm
staying consistent.
"It is what it is; now it's back to
the drawing board, and I'm going
to make my bike better for this
week. It's good I can work out
these bugs early on."
Tomac still moved up the
order in the series standings
with his finish and now sits fourth
overall, just four points behind

to redeem myself."
Anderson's teammate Zach Bell
had a good night in the 250 class.
He finished third in his heat and then
grabbed the holeshot in the 250
main. He went on to finish fifth. "To-
day was good," said Bell. "Qualify-
ing, practice, everything went well.
Last weekend I hurt my foot, so I took
last week off so I could get it good
for this weekend and show everyone
what I could do. I got a holeshot and
put it in the top five, so I'm happy. I
just need to build off of this and get
better every weekend."
Bell finished one spot ahead of his
Rockstar Energy Racing Husqvarna
teammate Zach Osborne, who is
fourth in the championship despite
still dealing with a broken thumb. "To-
day was okay for me," said Osborne.
"The track was pretty challenging,
and I haven't been spending as
much time as I'd like on my bike due
to my previous thumb injury. I think
the technical track was definitely the
biggest obstacle for me this week,
but I'll be back up there next week."
Yoshimura Suzuki's Blake Baggett
enjoyed his best ride in his 450
rookie year, but the night didn't fin-
ish without some disappointment.
Baggett was initially classified sev-
enth, but later learned he'd been
assessed a two-position penalty for
jumping a triple at the site of a medi-
cal flag. Baggett was one of three
riders given the penalty. It resulted in
Baggett being moved back to ninth
in the official results. In spite of the
setback it marked Baggett's best re-
sult of the season. (He also won his
semi.) "I got a decent start," Baggett
said of the Main event. "I was right
