NEW HERO EBR TEAM TAKES
FIRST EUROPEAN STEPS
T
he Hero EBR squad, brought
over to Europe this year as
a much-more directly controlled
American-based outfit, made its
first test outside of the USA at
Portimao, with riders Larry Pe-
gram and Niccolo Canepa at the
controls of the latest EBR1190RX.
Pegram, who is also the team
manager this year, spoke of the
immediate goals they had after
a successful first test in the U.S.
recently.
"For me personally this test
was to learn the track because
everybody tells me this is the
hardest track to learn—and it
is really, really tricky," said the
American "player-manager." "As
far as the team goes, this is the
first time that a lot of the guys
have been out of the U.S. So this
was get everybody comfortable
and to get Nic comfortable with
the bike. We tested with him in
the U.S. as well."
The machines that EBR ran in
Portugal are new for 2015, which
makes it a shakedown test for
the most part, before the team
heads to Jerez next week.
"This test is to make sure ev-
erything is up to speed," said Pe-
gram. "These bikes are all new
for here so it is a shakedown.
It's what a lot of the teams down
here are doing, but for us it is
brand new."
Before the Portimao weather
changes halted his progress,
