"Steps in the right direction for sure," Barcia said. "Fastest qual- ifier today, which was super nice for me and the team because we've been working extremely hard. Everyone's just putting a lot into it, so that was nice to see we had the speed and the bike was working really good. "In the main event, I just got a mediocre start," he added. "I was 10th and worked my way up to fourth, and that's pretty much where it went from there. But we're getting better. We're getting closer. The team's happy. Obvi- ously I'm not happy. I mean, I'm happy that the bike's getting a lot better, I'm getting more comfort- able. It's just taking a little more time than I anticipated, but we're getting closer so it feels good. Progress is important and I feel like we're doing that." GOING FORWARD Also having his best race of the season, Seely rebounded from his lap-four altercation with Bar- cia to finish sixth. "I felt like I rode a solid race," Seely said. I got into it with a rider out there and ended up on the ground and picked myself back up in 10th. I charged forward which is good, because I've been going backward the last two weekends. Made it all the way up to sixth, hung tight there and finished out the race. Just happy how I rode tonight." Anderson recovered from his second-lap crash with Short to finish seventh ahead of Dungey's teammate Dean Wilson. Monster Energy Kawasaki's Davi Millsaps ended the night in ninth. Another one of the riders to rebound that night was Yoshimura Suzuki's Blake Baggett who crashed (Above) Weston Peick tried to tough it out and ride with his broken foot, but had to sit out after re-breaking it in practice.
