"Off the start, I snuck around
the inside and going into the first
turn, man, it was chaos the first
couple of laps, just trying to hold
your position," Dungey said. "It's
one thing when the guy is behind
you and guys are all flowing, but
they were throwing it in left and
right. I was able to stay pretty
well-rounded. I got into fourth,
then second, then I just tried to
close that gap on Kenny [Roc-
zen]. He had about six seconds
and tried to cut that in half. Then
it just kind of stayed there. I was
pushing my tires to the limit, the
track was very slippery."
Although it wasn't a win,
Dungey was positive and look-
ing at the big picture, with it
being only three rounds into the
season.
"We gave it our best effort
and I'm really happy with that,"
Dungey said. "We'll get better.
We're gaining ground and that's
important."
Andrew Short's (29) race
got off to a great start with
the holeshot, but his night
ended shortly after with
a crash that also affected
rookie Jason Anderson (21).
