O
ne win is never enough. Before the
champagne dries from the first one,
you're ready to chase the next one.
Ken Roczen and Cooper Webb did just that
Saturday night at the third round of the Monster
Energy AMA Supercross season, becoming the
first men in 2015 to get that other win.
Albeit, both of them went about it in a slightly
different fashion.
For RCH Racing Suzuki's Roczen it was an
encore of his dominant performance at Ana-
heim I. The young German got out to the lead
early and checked out to take his second win
of the season and help advance his points lead
over rival Eli Tomac on the GEICO Honda.
On the other hand, Yammalube/Star Rac-
ing/Yamaha's Webb overcame a bad start and
charged to the front from 12th to pull off the ulti-
mate last-minute upset over training partner Ty-
ler Bowers on the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit
Kawasaki. Making the victory a little sweeter,
Webb leaves Anaheim with the red plate.
CHECKING OUT
The old adage: to finish first, first you must
finish held true at A2. And sometimes the best
shot you have at that is getting out front and
separating yourself from the chaos behind you.
Roczen did just that.
