P114 40 Years Ago January 28, 1975 Our cover story wasn't really a story at all but a guide of all of the local racing clubs around the country, which also included an in-depth calendar of the year's upcoming major races… The third issue of 1975 was only 32 pages and was dedicated mostly to local racing… We announced Honda's official motocross team for the upcoming season. It was made up of Tommy Croft, Rich Eierstedt, Pierre Karsmakers and Marty Smith. 30 Years Ago January 30, 1985 We featured Ricky Graham on the Honda RS500D in action on the cover 30 years ago to accompany our in-depth look at the bike, more specifically the motor, that carried him to a national TT victory in 1984… A.J. Whiting, Ron Lechien and Mike Fisher were the big winners at the third round of the CMC Golden State Series at Sunrise Cycle Park in California… Rodney Barr, Scooter Stafford and Steve Martin were the fast guys on the other side of the country at the Florida Winter-AMA Series at Wheelsport MX Park… We took a spin on Chris Crandall's B-To-V winning ATK 560. 10 Years Ago January 18, 2005 Ricky Carmichael graced the cover 10 years ago for ending his two-year Supercross dry spell with a win at the second round in Phoenix. The win also ended Suzuki's long win drought in the premier (250cc) class… Making the night even sweeter for Team Makita Suzuki was teammate Broc Hepler's win in the 125cc Western Region. It was Hepler's first win in the series… Across the country in sunny Daytona Beach, Florida, AMA Superbike riders were testing Dunlop tires in preparation for the season opener in March. Tim Ferry also got a piece of the cover for winning the 125cc class after a heated battle with Mickael Pichon… We also featured a close-up look at many of the bikes ridden by the stars of the 1995 Supercross Series… Craig Decker and Bader Manneh were the stars of the CMC Golden State Series at Sunrise Cycle Park… Jim Chester and Keith Johnson were tops at the Florida Winter-AMA Series at Ocala.
