OFF ROAD
AMA D-37/MSR BIG 6 GRAND PRIX SERIES
ROUND 1/JANUARY 2-4, 2015
MAVERICKS STADIUM/ADELANTO, CALIFORNIA
P96
quit on the second lap, with
David Glass taking over to
triumph aboard his Langston
Motorsports/TBT Racing
YZ450F.
Krause wasn't done, though,
and rolled his new 150 XC out
of the van for the final race of
the weekend: the combined
Heavyweight/Lightweight
Experts and Intermediates.
While Blayne Thompson
controlled the race out front
en route to the Heavyweight
Expert victory on his Victorville
Motorcycle Center/Flo KX450F
over Purvines Racing Beta's
Nick Burson, Krause proceeded
to re-learn the art of riding a
small-bore two-stroke. It wasn't
easy as BTO Sports/Checkers
M.C. YZ125-mounted young
teenager Jarett Megla hounded
him constantly the entire way,
a few mistakes preventing him
from making a pass stick.
And then you had Ty Davis.
The once "King of Adelanto," he
not only won Vet Heavyweight
Expert ahead of Vet Lightweight
Expert winner Morgan Crawford,
Davis also was responsible
for designing and building the
EnduroCross-type section of the
course on the playing surface of
Heritage Field. CN
(Right) GNCC regular Chris
Bach took part in his first-ever
Big 6 and said that he'd never
gone so fast on a dirt bike
before. He ended up a solid
sixth WCGP Pro.
(Bottom right) Andrew Jennings
is about to be caught by Super
Mini Advanced and overall
Mini winner Collin Elliott, but
Jennings sped to second in
Super Mini Beginner.
(Below) One of the closest
battles of the weekend pitted
50-something Paul Krause
(C835) against teenager Jarett
Megla (C122) in the weekend's
last race.
