OFF ROAD KENDA/SRT AMA WEST HARE SCRAMBLES CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES ROUND 1/JANUARY 10-11, 2015 PAGE, ARIZONA P84 My Own Race: 984 CHRIS BACH 4TH PLACE "I was definitely more comfortable here [than at the Adel- anto Grand Prix last week]," Maxxis/Pro Circuit/Fly Racing CRF450R-mounted Chris Bach said. "My start sucked, for sure. I was definitely last off the line. By the time we went up that first slickrock there less than a mile in, they said I was up to 15th or something and Jimmy Jarrett was right in front of me. I was definitely more comfortable [than last week], but the first couple laps I was still pretty timid—I'm still not totally comfortable with that high-speed stuff and these guys are just pinning it across sand whoops. But I got more comfortable as the day went on, for sure. I'm pretty happy with a fourth. 762 AXEL PEARSON 6TH PLACE "I was back with Chris Bach for a little bit and he actual- ly helped me out the last couple laps, because I started following his lines and he just had a good, smooth pace. He actually saved me the last couple laps, because I had some blisters and I crashed a couple times; I was kind of done, actually. I definitely need to work on a few things. I don't think I ate enough this morning because halfway through I felt hungry. My energy went down." 310J JOEY FIASCONARO 1ST FMF 250CC PRO/11TH OVERALL "I got a bad start—the bike didn't start on the first kick," said Joey Fiasconaro. "I picked off a few people on the start because they kept going down. After that, the second lap, I was pretty much by myself for the rest of the race. It's defi- nitely hard to set the pace when you're by yourself! I knew I had to be up there quite a ways so I kept pushing—you al- ways push; never give up! Probably the middle of the race, I was starting to fade pretty bad." The Sierra Motorsports of Grass Valley/NorCal Suspension Services/NorCal M.C. KTM 250 SX-mounted Fiasconaro held on to win the FMF 250cc Pro class.
