li Tomac has been one of the biggest stars in
Supercross for a while now, but it wasn't until
the 2015 Phoenix Supercross that he claimed
his first ever 450-class victory. He's been close
before, finishing second twice in 2014 and did so
while dealing with injuries. But so far this year he's
proven to be at times the fastest man on the track.
He posted the fastest qualifying time at each of
the first two races, although he crashed twice in
the main event at Anaheim 1.
In Phoenix, the Colorado native was on his game,
tracking down a fleeing Roczen, just when it ap-
peared the RCH/Soaring Eagle/Jimmy John's Su-
zuki rider was making a break for it. Tomac eventu-
ally passed Roczen on lap eight of the 20-lap main
event and pulled away for a very impressive win.
"This is a huge deal, it's a huge weight off my
shoulders," said Tomac. "I got second twice last
