CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "Supercross without Stewart is like beer without pretzels, or chips without salsa... and dang it, I like pretzels and salsa!" Weighing In So let's see if I understand this—basically James [Stewart] is allowed to take Adderall now that he has filed the appropri- ate paperwork. And if he had filed the appropriate paperwork last year, then he would not have been suspended at all? Then, this is not about doping, it's about procedure. And the FIM should be slapped with a penalty for cruel and unusual punishment. I also ask the question— where is the AMA? Don't they have enough juice to overturn this unjust suspension? Doesn't the AMA own the series? Like him or not, Stewart is a main attraction, a big-time star in his sport. For the FIM to have such a huge influence over an Ameri- can superstar in an American series (yes, I'm aware that it is considered an "international series") in what is arguably an American sport is wrong on many levels. It sounds political to me, and there is no room in this sport for this type of bureaucratic BS. Supercross without Stewart is like beer without pretzels, or chips without salsa...and dang it, I like pretzels and salsa! So, I would like to personally tell the FIM to pound sand, and for the AMA to do the right thing. Howard Halterman Grants Pass, Oregon A more appropriate penalty for "not completing the paperwork in a timely or proper fashion"? How about a financial penalty? This grievous action by the FIM against James Stewart appears to be more of an effort to exert influence and is an excellent example of authoritar- ian governance completely out of control. Scott Uhrmann Via The Internet Gee, Thanks Great [Ducati Scrambler] test! Cycle News online would easily be worth $25 per year. But... it's free! Cool! Kent Taylor Via The Internet Supercross Kudos Everyone seems to take time to complain, but I wanted to spend a few minutes to chronicle my feelings. Many positive improvements the last year or so in SX, but I am re- ally enjoying the second year of 450 semis along with the 22-rider gate count for both main events. I also appreciate the changes Feld has enacted at Angel Stadi- um. No longer does one have to take a detour to the left which is essentially the long way around and instead there is a fast line directly into the pits. If memory serves correctly the "fast line" improvement is actually not new for this year but this year it was so much easier to go from the stadium to the pits particularly after the race. Not sure how this was exactly accomplished but I know from this fan's perspective it is much appreciated. Thank you Feld for these positive improvements! Michael "Rock" Rigdon Via The Internet Move On, Hayes I like Josh Hayes, [he is] super talented and a genuinely nice guy, but I do believe he should move on to bigger better things. Dominating a series the way he does is not good for [the] series or other racers try- ing to make it. Best of the rest is all they can hope for. Reed May Via The Internet Go hop on a WSBK or MotoGP bike and lets see how things go. Nothing but love for you brother, but I am with Reed May, just not hard to win there. John Hart Via The Internet Letters to the editor can be sent to voices@cyclenews.com. Published letters do not necessarily reflect the position of Cycle News. Letters should not exceed 150 words and are subject to editing. Anonymous letters won't be considered for publication and each letter should contain the writer's name, address and daytime phone number… Editor P16
