WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
VOL. 52 ISSUE 2 JANUARY 13, 2015 P43
Briefly...
course this year, including 250 win-
ner Cooper Webb. "I was a fan of
this track; it was really hard and tech-
nical," said Webb. "Last week was, I
thought, really easy. To have a track
that is good for racing and to have
some obstacles that you actually have
to put in an effort to make is good for
racing. It was fun—good whoops."
Ryan Dungey, on the other hand, was
one of the riders with a different view.
"The track was tough to pass on, ev-
erything funneled into the same line
and the track was pretty tore up, and
rough, so guys weren't going very
high in the berms and the ruts were
pretty deep, so everything was really
tight and inside, which made it hard to
pass," said Dungey. "Then a slippery
track makes it even tougher."
After the race, Ryan Dungey talked
about areas he needs to work on.
"I need to be a little bit better in the
beginning of the race," said Dungey.
"It's one of those things, they say you
can lose it in the beginning of the
season, so you don't want to lose
too much, but you don't want to let
anyone slip away too much either.
But as the races keep coming, I think
we're going to get better and better."
Ryan Dungey also talked about hav-
ing a hand in the design of the new
KTM Factory Edition. "It's a new
frame, new engine and new sus-
pension, and consistently it's a solid
bike; it's much better than previous
years, but I'd still like to find that little
bit of an edge," said Dungey. "The
guys at KTM have a lot of notes from
the last three years to build this new
bike, looking at areas where we had
weak spots, and those are no longer
there."
Chad Reed rode well in Phoenix
Tomac (3) fights
for the early lead
with Ryan Dungey
(5) and Ken
Roczen (94).
