2015 DUCATI SCRAMBLER FIRST RIDE P66 feel), spoke wheels, and a stylish lozenge-pattern stitched seat. The Ducati Scrambler, with its obvious romanticism and ardent meanderings back to a less com- plicated time, chasing the retro craze, may not be everyone's cup of tea. But what Ducati has done by bringing the legendary machine back into its line-up simply means there is more choice, to suit more people. And so long as those peo- ple are getting onto motorcycles, it's a good thing. Ducati understands that the retro craze is fueled as much by fashion as machinery and has created a full line of apparel to augment the scene. This comes in terms of clothing intended for actual riding (pants, jackets, helmets) as well as just hanging out (T-shirts, hoodies, and various accessories). Howev- er, the various depictions of beach outings, B-B-Qs, and flying kites in the marketing materials will have to be attained by your own devices— the girls you see frolicking with the Scrambler riders in the photos have to be acquired on your own. The Ducati Scrambler is about getting back to the bare essentials of riding a motorcycle: throttle, clutch, gears, and brakes, with an attitude of crank it over and go. Simple. With the design mandate of simplicity, everything the bike is designed for it does exceptionally well. It's not going to overwhelm with power or performance be- cause that's not what the Scram- bler experience is all about. With an MSRP of $8,495 (Icon) the Scrambler is priced so that riders, whether "lifers," returning enthusi- asts, or new to the sport–and per- haps even absolute beginners—can buy into the prestige of owning and riding a Ducati. Now, just crank up Jimi on your iPod and answer the prevailing question: "Are you Expe- rienced?"
