INTERVIEW AMA EAST 250 SUPERCROSS CHAMPION JUSTIN BOGLE P124 most sense at this time for me to be out here and be with the team every day, so I can test when I need to. I come home usually during the summer, for some of the outdoors, but unfortunately it's been less and less time I've been able to spend at home." Bogle grew up watching fellow Oklaho- mans Guy Cooper and Robbie Reynard, and the two had a big influence on Bo- gle's life. "Robbie was the guy I watched most when I was growing up, but Guy Cooper was retired at that time and he was rac- ing a lot of local stuff that I was at, so I got to see him race," says Bogle. "He had Cooperland, and a lot of my memories growing up are of him. Cooper was defi- nitely the man and Robbie was coming up and winning races at that time. In 1998, Robbie was beating Carmichael, and that was incredible to me, to know that it was possible for someone from Oklahoma to do that. So I looked up to him big-time. I tried to mimic his career in every way." Bogle lived with Reynard for Bogle's fi- nal two years as an amateur and his first year-and-a-half as a pro. Bogle still gets advice from Reynard on a weekly basis, how- ever, Bogle works full-time with Fedorow. "Ryan is with me every day at the track and he works with me, but when I'm home, if Robbie sees something I'm doing that he doesn't like he will definitely fix that. Robbie shaped a lot of my riding style over the years," says Bogle. Interestingly, Bogle didn't get a lot of time on a Supercross track as an amateur, however, he says he feels more comfort- able on a Supercross track than an outdoor track. "I honestly think it's some- thing that just comes to me nat- urally," Bogle says about Super- cross. "I love it and I really don't know how I got so good at it. I wasn't on it so much growing up. Me and Colt would sneak onto Trey Canard's Supercross track when he was out of town. We were just kids riding the track with outdoor suspension, but we weren't like really training on it. But definitely being close to Trey helped me a lot when I started racing Supercross, be- cause honestly, I struggled a lot when I first started Supercross, and I had a lot of people there to help me in Robbie and Trey, which made the transition a lot easier." Bogle has struggled to find the same success at motocross Bogle says he's going to work on his intensity next year. "THAT FEELING OF WINNING THE CHAMP- IONSHIP, AND WINNING THE FIRST RACE IN TORONTO, I'LL NEVER FORGET THOSE FEELINGS."
