here was a constant tinkling
sound throughout Marc Mar-
quez's second MotoGP sea-
son, as there had been through the
first. It was the sound of records be-
ing smashed. His phenomenal maiden
championship of 2013 was followed
by an even more phenomenal second
season.
"Now I know the machine better,
and it works better for me. That helped
me concentrate less on making the
bike better and more on improving as
a rider," he said, towards the end of
the year.
And how.
To describe it as a runaway win is
pretty much spot on, in spite of some
careless crashes when the work was
all but done. But it doesn't take in the
type of excitement this stripling super-
star brings to the task. Even when a
