2015 SUPERCROSS PREVIEW
P84
Chad Reed has been trying to sign a
second rider for the past two years to his
Kawasaki-based Discount Tire/TwoTwo
Motorsports team, and is even rumored
to have signed Millsaps at one time be-
fore it all fell apart. Dean Wilson had an
impressive showing at Daytona last year
riding one of Reed's bikes. For 2015,
though, Josh Grant joins the team as a
second rider to Reed. And while both rid-
ers have been on the circuit for several
years, they're both still posting impressive
results. Don't count out these two when
considering possible podium finishers.
Over at BTOSports.com KTM-WPS,
Justin Brayton, who, as mentioned,
spent the last few years on a Yamaha with
Toyota/JGRMX, will join Andrew Short
on the team. Brayton and Short fall into
the same category of solid and consis-
tent top-10 performers. Brayton posted a
second-place finish in Phoenix last year,
while Short's top finish of the year was a
fourth in Detroit.
After spending the summer in Canada,
Mike Alessi returns to AMA Supercross
with SmarTop/MotoConcepts. The
team has signed Vince Friese to race
450 in the West Regional series and a
250 on the East Regional series.
250 CLASS
In spite of the fact that heavyweights like
Dean Wilson and Jason Anderson have
graduated to the Supercross class, the
250 class will be just as competitive as
ever, with reigning East champ Justin
Bogle joining 250-class veterans Martin
Davalos and Marvin Musquin in a race for
the two regional titles. Meanwhile, newly
crowned outdoor champ Jeremy Martin
will likely have a much better showing in
Supercross than he had last year.
COLE SEELY
(Above) Cole Seely joins the big-bore class on his new factory
Honda team. He has some 450 Supercross races under his
belt already. (Below) Not much has changed for Eli Tomac, a
certain title contender in the 450 class. He's back again with
the GEICO Honda squad.
