INTERVIEW 2014 NHRA PRO STOCK MOTORCYCLE WORLD CHAMPION ANDREW HINES P172 that demands a completely different set- up from anywhere else on the NHRA tour. After qualifying number two, behind Lu- cas Oil Buell's Hector Arana Jr., Hines won again. The following week, the tour moved back to sea-level in Sonoma and Hines won the prestigious MiraMonte Records Pro Bike Battle, taking home the $25,000 top prize. All told Hines won 13-straight rounds on the new bike before losing to Krawiec in the semi final round in Sonoma. By then Hines had earned enough points to all-but clinch the top seed heading into the Countdown to the Cham- pionship playoffs. Given the progress of their engine pro- gram, it was no surprise that Hines and Krawiec entered the Countdown as the top two seeds in the class.
