"Besides my back, I also broke my shoulder blade, so that was a rough start to the season," says Bogle. "It was a tough couple of months, but I had great people around me to help me get through it." At first Bogle wasn't sure he would ever race again but with a lot of thera- py and rehab, he was in good enough shape to line up on the starting line that February night in Dallas to start the east series. "I came into that first race pretty un- prepared," says Bogle. "A lot of peo- ple thought I was out of it, but I stuck it out and kept on pushing." It didn't help that Bo- gle got a terrible jump off the gate in the main event and was nearly last at the end of the opening lap. "I just put my head down and tried to make as many passes as I could," Bogle says. "I knew I needed to salvage as many points as possible if I was going to have any chance at winning the champion- ship." Ultimately, Bogle was able to work his way into fifth by the end of the race; not a great start to the season, but when you consider what he had gone through the previous six weeks, well, it really was a great start. "Obviously, I wasn't the best guy that "A LOT OF PEOPLE THOUGHT I WAS OUT OF IT, BUT I STUCK IT OUT AND KEPT ON PUSHING." Bogle clinched the '14 East 250 SX title at Las Vegas.
