pert and third overall aboard his THR Mo-
torsports/Monster Energy/Precision Con-
cepts KX450F almost three minutes back.
"I really needed this win this weekend to
lock up the championship due to an early
season crash," Roberts said. "I told myself,
'Oh, the conditions are going to be challeng-
ing so we should just play it safe and ride
smooth.' As soon as Morgan starts catching
me—we practice all week together—all that
goes out the window, and we just started
charging harder and harder."
Roberts admitted, "I started thinking too
soon—a corner before the finish—and got
tied up in a banner. Some of these ruts are
still a little gooey. You try to put too much
pressure and you end up going where it
wants to take you."
"I wasn't planning on passing him—we
were just having a good time," Crawford
insisted. "He got his first [place] and I got
mine. We were just playing like we do back
at home."
Although the last race of the
season decided a number of
class championships, points are
still unofficial and they won't be
available for a while. CN
AMA DISTRICT 37/GPR STABILIZER BIG 6 GRAND PRIX SERIES
(Left) After nearly crashing in a
tricky section, Carter Klein decided
to back it down a notch and get
a good finish. He ended up third
overall and first Micro Novice in the
combined Junior/Micro race.
(Below) Robert Baehr steadily
worked his way through the pack
on Sunday until he reached fourth
overall Senior and first Senior

gave him an unbeaten season in
the class.
