CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "Its past grid of "best of the best" will never happen again." MotoAmerica TV Is CBS Sports a channel? I thought it was a giant company. They said prime time, which is good, but if this ends up being on channel 9,000 and only available in four cities, it will be quite the let down. I doubt that is the case, but I've grown used to disappointment the last several years. Johnny Killmore Via Facebook Here we go again. Last time I checked, CBS was being a com- plete bitch to all of the carriers and they were dropping them or thinking about dropping them. Hopefully they will get some an- nouncers that actually follow the race and not just make stupid comments that have nothing to do with the race(s). At least allow Scott Russell to explain what is happening on the track. Go and get a young up and coming Brit announcer to take the helm of the new series and build on it. If they roll out the same moronic announcers and the ridiculously stupid pit area reporters, it is go- ing to suck! What's the definition of insanity again? I much prefer an online subscription site like SBK and MotoGP. No commercials and you get to see and hear all of the race weekend! Network TV cannot do it properly. It's a shame. I almost saw a race break out once in the middle of the commercials on Fox Sports this past year, but it was just a race, it did not interfere with the commercials! Michael Brunner Via Facebook EBR World Superbike Last year was embarrassing. Nothing against Aaron [Yates] or Geoff [May], but when the announcer says he thinks the EBRs are running on one cylinder while Yates is getting lapped…I was feeling for those guys. It's hard to get respect when the announcers are mak- ing jokes. Darryl Tomlinson Via Facebook I sure hope they can close the horsepower gap—the new rules are not slowing down the front of the field all that much. The EBRs were barely in the game, and the fact that they were Superbike spec (vs. EVO) made matters even worse. Good luck to Larry and his family in 2015! Bob Close Via the Internet Daytona 200 Revival Some promoters seem to be stuck back in the 70s. The 200 used to run with the best riders in the world on exotic factory race bikes. Now it will not even be the best racers in America on almost standard sport bikes. Attendance will be low. It will not get televised and if it does, it won't next year, because viewership will be low. If they want this racetrack to hold races that promote interest, they need to change their formula. My suggestion is to join up with the World Endurance Championship and turn the race into the USA's premier 24-hour road race. Andy Rhodes Via Facebook This race has become an after- thought. Its past grid of "best of the best" will never happen again. Time to move on and just enjoy the pictures of Roberts, Agostini and Spencer when this race meant something. Tracy Gough Via Facebook No Superbikes? Who cares then. Purse money will be good for some racers, but Daytona as a venue is a huge "couldn't care less" in my book. It's been living on its legacy for far too long. Plenty of better road course tracks out there. Chuck Ertelt Via Facebook Look back to the 60 + bike grids, going in two waves, riders from every top series around the world! To win at Daytona was to beat the World's best. Sadly a second-rate series riding 600s won't cut the mustard. This is a sad charade put on by DMG just to bolster some I-told-you-so attitude. Boo.
