In some of these sections, spectators were lined up five deep, cheering as riders struggled to claw their way up the gnarly climbs. Colorado off-roader Ian Blythe took the early lead in the morning race, leading for a full lap before waving Baylor into the lead on lap two. "I was hoping to learn the pace by watching Stu but he just dropped me once he got around," said Bythe. Baylor went on to take an easy win, while Blythe held on for sec- ond ahead of AirGroup Racing's Nick Fahringer and KTM riders Drew Higgins and Zach Ingram. In race two, Blythe got off to a bad start, but was leading when the Pro pack roared into the woods, followed by Baylor and Fahringer. The three riders went nose-to-tail for the remainder of the race. About a mile before the check- ered flag, Baylor made a move on Blythe to take the lead, but Baylor got sideways in the grass
