MOTOCROSS 43 RD THOR WINTER OLYMPICS, PRESENTED BY PRO CIRCUIT NOVEMBER 26-29, 2014 GATORBACK CYCLE PARK/GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA P54 Daniel Baker bested Frye in the fi- nal 450 A main on Saturday after- noon. Baker's speed was impres- sive but at times he had trouble keeping his KTM on two wheels. His resiliency and ability to make his way back through the field and finish in a top position earned him the Asterisk Iron Man Award. Austin Forkner continued his success on the motocross track. Forkner added three more cham- pionships to his resume in the Schoolboy 2 (13-16) B/C, 250 B, and 450 B classes. Locurcio, who was looking to win a few more bat- tles against the Kawasaki-backed rider, unfortunately ended his week early after hitting a tough block in the whoops section trying to reel in Forkner on Friday. A few other notable injuries struck down Hannah Hodges and Carson Mumford; both riders were not able to contest for motocross championships due to injuries they sustained during qualifying. Jalek Swoll was looking to make a statement early. In his first race on the outdoor track, the Supermini 1 (12-15) Division 1, he dropped the hammer and crossed the finish line with al- most 10 seconds to spare ahead of Parker Mashburn in second. He continued his winning streak throughout the rest of the com- petition, falling second only once to Chase Fasnacht in the Mini Sr. 12-15 main. By weeks end Swoll added four outdoor titles to the Mini Sr. (12-15) Limited title he col- lected during Supercross. Swoll's impressive results throughout the entire week awarded him the prestigious Platinum Pipe Award and the Fox Bronze Boot Award. That's a lot of hardware! Difrancesco, Reynolds and Leblanc found success on the motocross track stacking up five championships between the three of them. Leblanc took the 65 (7-9) Limited title, Reynolds the 85 (9-11) and the 65 (7-9) ti- tles, and Difrancesco took home the 51 (7-8) Limited and 51 (4-8) Limited titles. It was bitter sweet for the young Ryder Difrancesco who raced, and won, his final race on his 50cc Cobra. Mini O's isn't just about racing. Sure, that's why we're all here but there's more to this event then just what takes place on the track. Surrounding a national hol- iday, it's a time to come together as one big motocross family and be thankful for our families and friends. It wouldn't be Mini O's without the annual Thor Thanks- giving dinner. Every year the Thor crew dishes out a Thanks- giving meal for everyone to enjoy. There're also plenty of activi- ties for the entire family as well. When the gates drop on the fi- nal moto for the day, the night activities are just warming up. From bingo, to karaoke, to a pie- eating contest, the action doesn't stop when the sun goes down. Wednesday night's Red Bull Mini Moto race had a crowd worthy of a Pro Sport main event. Tons of fans lined the starting gate area to see Racer TV, Unlimited Sports MX, Illusive Gloves, and several other teams compete to be crowned this year's Red Bull Mini Moto Champion. In the end, the Illusive Gloves team bounced back after coming in dead last in their heat race to win the final. CN Ryder Difrancesco won the 51cc (4-8) Limited Championship.
