One of the highlights of this year's
event was Saturday night's auction in
honor of Kurt Caselli where all pro-
ceeds would go to the Kurt Caselli
Foundation. Up for grabs was an
amazing oil painting of Kurt, a TLD
custom-painted Fender guitar and a
custom Roland Sands-built "retro"
KTM motorcycle. RSD did a spec-
tacular job on the trick-looking KTM
and it ended up selling for $27,000!
It only seemed fitting that Kurt's for-
mer teammate Ivan Ramirez and his
father would be the ones to take it
home with their winning bid. The
winning bid for the oil painting was
a whopping $11,000, offered up by
Red Bull's Ben Bryan, who promptly
gave it to Nancy Caselli (Kurt's moth-
er), who was present for the auction.
The weather and track conditions
for this year's Day In The Dirt were
perfect… well, almost. Friday and
Saturday saw warm temps and the
usual rough course, while Sunday
the barometer dropped, rain moved
