down, I've always come back and
been stronger, so I just looked at
this as a chance to rethink some
things. I made some great con-
nections with some of the train-
ers at Sports Performance And
Rehabilitation Center (SPARC) in
Athens. They went above and be-
yond in helping me get back into
racing shape. I definitely couldn't
have done it without them."
One of Bobbitt's big interests
outside of motorcycle racing is
mountain biking, and just bicy-
cling in general, and that fit in
perfectly with SPARC's program.
"We did mostly road biking at
SPARC; pedaling with one leg
and having the bad leg go along
for the ride," says Bobbitt. "Origi-
nally, I couldn't do the motion, and
then eventually we got the full rota-
tion. I just kept extending the ride
times until I was doing 15 hours a
week. It improved my fitness and
also got my leg strength back."
Even before hooking up with
SPARC, Bobbitt was considered
one of the best-fit athletes on
the enduro circuit. And most of
it came as a result of just doing
his own thing, so to speak. That
is until he found a full-time trainer
at SPARC.
"I haven't really had a dedi-
cated coach until I had this injury,
and now I'm training out of the
SPARC facility with a guy named
Adam McNelson," says Bobbitt.
"He actually was a gold medalist
in the Olympics in shot put. He
really works with me on the men-
tal game, working with injury and
high-pressure situations. He's
really good and it's been a good
experience."
After spending five months re-
covering from his injury, Bobbitt
got back on the bike the week
before the ninth round of the
enduro series in South Carolina
where he came away with a sev-

Bobbitt back on KTM, though he
hasn't strayed far from the company,
having ridden for the KTM-owned
Husqvarna and Husaberg teams the
last couple of seasons.

Enduro, as well as the OMA Moose
