VOL. 51 ISSUE 47 NOVEMBER 25, 2014 P35
Briefly...
The small footprint of the Citizens
Business Bank Arena yielded a tight
course and short lap times (even
with the track routing out of the
arena through the backstage area).
With lap times in the low 40-second
range, and a daunting Matrix section,
to boot, the lead riders found them-
selves taking on lapped traffic before
the end of the second lap. "There
were so many lappers out there be-
cause the course was so tight and
small. We lapped up to sixth place
twice," Colton Haaker explained.
JCR Honda mechanic Eric Siraton
was prompted to execute the fastest
radiator change in history when his
rider, Colton Haaker, crashed dur-
ing opening ceremonies and bent
the radiator. Siraton had his work cut
out for him to get the change done
before Haaker's heat raceāand of
course, Haaker was in the first one.
Fortunately Siraton completed the
change in time for Haaker to make
it to the line.
