IN THE WIND P26 PLAN AHEAD: 2015 ENDUROCROSS SCHEDULE T he GEICO AMA EnduroCross Championship Series announced its 2015 series and the schedule includes two new venues. Next year's season will kick off with the first of the new rounds inside the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Flor- ida, on Friday, March 6, the day before the Day- tona Supercross. Phoenix, Arizona, will be the other new city on the tour and will take place on May 30. Because of the increased number of rounds, the 2015 series will kick off in March instead of in May. The Salt Lake City and Sacramento events will now be earlier in the year and the series will again wrap up in Ontario, California, in November. In addition to the 10 events produced by TEN, Enduro X will again be a part of the X Games taking place in Austin, Texas, in June. The informal intro- duction was a great way to give the media a chance to mingle with the riders and staff in a re- laxed atmosphere before the start of the Supercross Series, which kicks off in Anaheim, Cali- fornia, January 3. Honda Team manager Dan Betley spoke about their success the second half of the 2014 sea- son and also the changes that are being made during the off- season to further enhance their racing program. "We're very excited with the path we're on right now," Betley said. "We started from a solid foundation as we headed into the off-season, and since then we've worked hard and intelligently. Testing is going well, and with the increased support we're receiv- ing from HRC, we're already see- ing measureable improvements with the bike and program." Trey Canard will again be a part of Honda's racing effort for the upcoming 2015 year and couldn't be happier to continue his rela- tionship with American Honda. The other half of Honda's fac- tory race effort has been a fill-in rider a few times but for 2015 Cole Seely is excited to be a full- time member. "Growing up, you walk past the Honda tent [in the pits] with all the best riders in the sport un- der there, so it's definitely a little weird for me to think that I'm on that level, underneath that tent now, and I'm excited. It really is a dream come true." Jason Abbott Trey Canard, Cole Seely and Dan Betley hang out with the media. PHOTOGRAPHY BY JASON ABBOTT
