FINAL ROUND/NOVEMBER 13-16, 2014
AUTO CLUB RACEWAY AT POMONA/POMONA, CALIFORNIA
NHRA COUNTDOWN TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP
"They make me look good. We struggled at times
last year but last winter we went to work and turned
our V-Rod program around."
For all his success, Hines' chance to finish the
season with a win ended in the semi final round
when he lost to Krawiec, who in turn lost in the
final to Arana Jr., 6.83 to 6.97. On his way to the fi-
nal, Arana Jr. also defeated Fred Camarena, Steve
Johnson, and Star Racing Buell's Chaz Kennedy.
"This is definitely one of my better seasons,"
Arana Jr. said. "We were able to seal the deal
from the number one qualifying position. Some-
times that can jinx you, but we were able to stay
strong and take it all the way to the end. The final
was very exciting. You have to be careful with the
lights. When it gets dark it is easier to red-light. I
popped the clutch and never saw Eddie. My bike
went straight down the track and it was an amazing
feeling.
Andrew Hines took home his fourth NHRA
Pro Stock Motorcycle Championship.
The Screamin' Eagle Harley-Davidson Vance & Hines
team did their homework last winter and dominated
in 2014 with Hines (504) taking the title and Eddie
Krawiec (3) finishing second in the championship.
