VOL. 51 ISSUE 46 NOVEMBER 18, 2014 P37 MULTISTRADA 1200 D ucati's latest Multistrada 1200 continues to impress. Already one of the most so- phisticated motorcycles in Ducati's lineup, the 2015 Multistrada 1200 just got a lot smarter, especially when it comes to its electronics package, which was already im- pressive enough, or so we thought. Some of the big news here is the Multistrada's Inertia Measurement Unit (IMU), which, among many things manages the latest Bosch Cornering ABS. This prevents the brakes from locking up the wheels when the bike is well leaned over in the turns. IMU also allows for the new Ducati Wheelie Control, which features eight levels of adjust- ment. The bike still retains traction control, ABS and four ride-by-wire power modes. The base Multistrada has dual 320mm Brembo front brakes and a non-adjustable 48mm inverted fork. The Multistrada S, on the other hand, features 330mm front- brake rotors and Brembo's latest M50 calipers, as well as Electronic Sachs suspension (front and back) with the semi-active Ducati Sky- hook Suspension (DSS) Evolution system. The S also gets a full-color TFT dash and LED headlamp with Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL).
