There was another record
to be broken at Valencia. Marc
Marquez had equaled Doohan's
12 wins in a season at the last
round in Malaysia. Today, in a
difficult race run in threatening
conditions, he made it 13. But
the Repsol Honda rider had the
good grace to say: "It is not such
an important record...because
now we have more races in the
season."
There were 101,000 fans at the
tight and twisty Ricardo Tormo
circuit outside Valencia. You can
be sure they went home happy.
The difficulty of the race was
again the weather. It had been
