IN THE WIND P28 BELL TOPS ELSINORE GP H undreds of Southern Cali- fornia riders took to the streets of Lake Elsinore for the iconic 2014 Lake Elsinore GP, which celebrated its 46th run- ning, November 8-9. Kawa- saki's Robby Bell took time out from his busy Baja pre-running schedule to make a cameo at the event and overall the Mush- man 100. Bell was able to fend off a hard-charging Brett Met- calfe throughout the 2.5-hour race to take the big win. Met- calfe held on for second place ahead of Justin Seeds, who rounded out the podium, while Rowan Trefz and Ty Davis filled out the top-five. Justin Seeds rebounded from his 100-mile feat on Satur- day to also race the 450 Expert class on Sunday, which he won in a dominant fashion. JCR Honda's Johnny Campbell also made an appearance at the Lake Elsinore GP, and topped Saturday's 40+ Expert class. He wasn't the only Campbell on top of the podium, as young Preston Campbell pulled off the big win in the Mini 85cc Ex- pert class. MOSS WRAPS UP AUSTRALIAN SX TITLE T eam Motul Suzuki's Matt Moss claimed victory, November 8, at Brisbane Entertainment Cen- tre to claim the 2014 Australian Supercross Championship with a perfect season. A second-consecutive SX1- class Supercross title for Moss capped off a stellar year for the Aussie, which saw him success- fully defend both the MX Nationals and Supercross Championships. On Saturday night, Moss ral- lied his way forward in the 20-lap main event from the back half of the top-10 on the opening lap and sliced his way through to the lead on lap 14 to secure an unbeaten run of five round victories from five starts in 2014. Earlier in the evening Moss had sealed the title just by quali- fying for and starting the final. "I was stuck back in the pack with five or so laps gone by and I wasn't really feeling it at that point," Moss said. "But the guys at the front didn't seem to be get- ting away and I got going there in the middle of the race and I'm glad I did. I was able to pick them off and get the win, which made for the perfect season. "I'm just really thankful to ev- erybody at Team Motul Suzuki, all of our supporters and the peo- ple that help make this happen. We go racing for a lot of reasons, but to win and reward everybody involved in that way is the best feeling. It's been an amazing year for everybody involved and the RM-Z450 delivered everything we asked of it the whole way." For the second year in a row, Matt Moss claimed the Australian Supercross Championship. MARC JONES PHOTOGRAPHY
